This Stability demonstrator is primarily designed for instructors to show how a change in a vessel’s Centre of Gravity (CoG) changes the stability of a vessel and the angle at which it will invert.

To use, adjust the CoG using the slider then rotate the vessel.  As the blue arrow(CB) moves right it will give rise to a Righting Moment (RM), the greater the distance between the red and blue the greater the RM, and the better chance the vessel will right itself.

If the angle increases and the CB moves back towards the red GZ then there will be a tendency for the vessel to invert.
